The proximity sensor also known as the induction flex is responsible for turning off the display when the phone is held to your ear to ensure you don’t dial. It alsoadjusts the screens brightness based on your environment. The sensor is mounted on the mid chassis frame which also holds the glass and LCD. To replace the proximity sensor proximity sensor cover (induction flex cover) will need to be removed.
